27 May Dreams & Donations are the Reality!
When Sam became proprietor of Keweenaw Adventure Company (KAC) sixteen years ago, he had a vision to be more than just an outfitter and guide – he dreamt of being a catalyst of change and of growth for the tourist economy, he desired to contribute to conservation and education efforts for the land that he loved.

Huge shout out to all who made for a record breaking Shutties weekend! The amazing weather, holiday and race weekend made for the perfect storm…
And dreams come true. Since 1999, Sam has personally donated thousands of hours to trail building, maintenance and community events, and the business has donated thousands of dollars. Just this year KAC was able to step up their donor-ship level to the Copper Harbor Trails Club (a 501c3 non-profit) to a $2500 Summit level and just this past Memorial Day weekend alone, KAC contributed $300 of Mountain Bike Shuttle profits to the Club and collected an extra $200 to go towards ongoing land acquisition donations! KAC recognizes the importance of land acquisition not only because the more land, the more trails, but because acquiring land for trails ultimately leads to the preservation of the Keweenaw Peninsula in a low impact, sustainable manner, while maintaining public access for all.
As for on the water? Each year KAC donates to well over a dozen charitable events with free Lake Superior Sea Kayak Tour gift certificates!
Of course, none of this gifting would be possible without the awesome support of our loyal customers and adventurous new comers — a HUGE thanks to all of you for your past and ongoing support. Without you, all of the above mentioned would not be possible.
